As early as I can remember I was aware of God and had some familiarity with the stories of the Bible and Jesus. They seemed to me to be only that, stories. Until, at ten years old, I began to awaken to the reality that Jesus was a person and there was good news of life in Him. One evening I was lying in bed considering what I had heard about Him and it was as if the Lord graciously broke into my room and straight into my soul. The seed of the gospel was planted in some poor soil and I struggled quite a bit in the first few years but God has been merciful to keep me..

I earned a Bachelor's degree in Pastoral Ministry from Manhattan Christian College and a Master of Arts from Indiana Wesleyan University but my best education has come from a love of reading that God has grown in me over the years. My current addiction is reading classic works by Puritan and Reformed pastors. For ten years I served as a youth and family pastor before God led us to move to Bonner Springs and start a church.

God's grace overflowed to me in my wife, Amanda, whom I met in college and made sure to marry before I graduated. We are blessed with three kids. Ryder and Josie came to us in the typical fashion. Our youngest, Sylas, we adopted when he was seventeen months old. We enjoy family meals, family movie nights, and family camping trips in our beat-up pop-up camper.

The grace of God and the truth of His Word came to me as light in a dark place when every other light had gone out. Never have I regretted surrendering something to Christ and obeying His Word.
